Rest in Petty is designed to collect as little information as practical. Most memorial creation happens directly in your browser. This policy explains what may be stored, shared, or processed when you use the site.
Information you provide
The memorial name, cause of death, relationship, and optional blame text you enter are processed in your browser. A draft may be stored in your browser’s local storage so it remains available when you return.
If you choose “Copy private link,” the memorial fields are encoded into that URL. Anyone who receives the URL can read its contents. Do not enter private, sensitive, unlawful, or confidential information into a memorial.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Rest in Petty does not receive or store your complete payment-card number. Stripe may process contact, billing, device, transaction, and fraud-prevention information under its own privacy policy. Stripe may also send receipts and retain records required for payment, tax, dispute, and legal purposes.
Advertising and Google AdSense
When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may place and read cookies, use web beacons, process IP addresses, or use other identifiers to deliver, measure, personalize, and prevent fraud in advertising. Google explains how it uses information from partner sites in its partner-sites policy.
Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. You can review Google advertising controls at Google Ad Settings.
Consent and privacy choices
Where required, we use Google’s certified consent-management tools to request and communicate advertising choices. You can also block or delete cookies using your browser controls. Removing local storage will remove saved Rest in Petty drafts and any locally stored purchase state.
Technical information
Our hosting provider may process routine server logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamps, and security events. We use this information to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service.
Retention and security
Browser-local memorial drafts remain until you clear them or your browser removes them. Payment and advertising providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Rest in Petty is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
